“Urozhai” (“Harvest”) Research and Production Company” Private Joint-Stock Partnership: Creating “harvest” together

000000005

??Urozhai? (?Harvest?) Research and Production Company? Private Joint-Stock Partnership is a leading agricultural enterprise in Cherkassy and Kiev regions. Since 2006, it belongs to the group of enterprises of the vertically-integrated business of ?Mironovsky Bread Products? Public Joint-Stock Company?. The main profile of the enterprise is growing grain crops, which are further used for feed-stuff production. This is explained by a convenient location of fields of the company and the reprocessors - Mironovsky Plant for Cereals and Feed-Stuff Production and Katerinopolsky Lift Conveyor, because ?Urozhai? branches are located in Cherkassy and Kiev regions.

Among the latest achievements of ?Urozhai? Research and Production Company is the leading position within ?Mironovsky Bread Products? and Ukraine for yields of major crops (maize, sunflower, wheat and rape). At the end of 2011, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food awarded ?Urozhai? with the rank of ?The Absolute Leader in Maize Yield in Ukraine? (128.7 centner/hectare over the area of 37.7 thous. hectares). And in 2012, it got the rank of ?The Absolute Leader in Sunflower Yield in Ukraine? (37.2 centner/hectare over the area of 8.4 thous. hectares). This is the result of work of the team consisting of the most experienced specialists who are constantly improving their qualification in Ukraine and abroad. The team is continuously recreated by young specialists. And Mr. Oleg Vasetsky, the director of ?Urozhai?, became an honored worker of agricultural industry of Ukraine in 2009.

In 2013, the enterprise cultivated more than 77 thous. hectares of tillable lands. Today, ?Urozhai? has 16 branches, one of which is a separate machine-tractor camp. The branches are located in six districts in Cherkassy region: Zvenigorodka, Gorodische, Kanev, Korsun-Shevchenkovsky, Katerinopol, Lysianka and Mironovka districts; and Bohuslav district in Kiev region. The basis for crop species growing is a technology based on using the most modern technical equipment for soil processing and harvesting: Lexion 560 combine harvesters (Germany), tractors by FENDT (Germany), VALTRA (Finland), MTZ (Belarus); seed drills by JOHN DEERE (USA), Great Plains (USA), Massey Ferguson (USA); ploughs and disc-tined harrows by Gregoire Besson (France); and BERTHOUD spraying devices. Moreover, in addition to chemical fertilizers, organic ones are also widely used here: chicken manure is applied in the fields of the enterprise as a biofertilizer, being accumulated in nearby poultry farms - Mironovskaya and ?Novaya Pobeda? (?New Victory?).

Therefore, ?Urozhai? grows grain, it is processed into feed-stuff, the latter comes to the poultry plants, and the poultry plant waste is processed into bio-fertilizer, which, in turn, gets back onto the fields of the enterprise. Future belongs to such system of economic management.

?Urozhai? is actively involved into the lives of not only their employees, but also the residents of the villages, on the territory of which it leases land. Social work conducted by the enterprise can be divided into several main areas. Among them are filling the village budgets, social agreements with village councils, material and sponsor support to workers and village residents. Only during 2013, more than 4.8 million hryvnias were spent on social projects.

Social projects implementation, according to Mr. Oleg Vasetsky, the head of the enterprise, is the key to revival and development of Ukrainian village, which, in turn, will ensure further progressive development of the entire state.
